Weather Impact Alert Day: Tropical moisture, energy from Francine to bring more heavy rain, flooding

People's Friday evening commute on the First Coast will likely be impacted along with local high school football.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Weather Team is issuing a Weather Impact Alert for Friday. Tail-end tropical energy and moisture from Francine will swing in from the Gulf of Mexico Friday afternoon and evening, bringing the threat of more heavy rain & possible flooding. The evening commute will likely be impacted along with local high school football.

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 13 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

IMPACT: Wet and possibly flooded roadways. Rainfall during outdoor Friday night football events.

NEED: Use caution on the roads, allow yourself extra time to figure out/utilize detours around flooded roads, and bring wet weather gear (raincoat/poncho, blanket, umbrella) with you for outdoor activities.
