Weather Impact Alert Day: Torrential rain on First Coast Friday could impact evening commute

Several areas on the First Coast have experienced flooding this week due to consistent rain, which has caused one school in Jacksonville to close indefinitely.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Because of already very saturated ground and the fact that it’s Friday night football, First Coast News is issuing a Weather Impact Alert Day, as rain chances on the First Coast through the evening could make it very inconvenient for plans.

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 6 from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.

IMPACTS: Heavy rain, lightning, possible flooding. We’ve had a lot of rain, and now we’re about to get more.

NEED: Drivers will need to prepare for a potentially rough commute home (for the average 9-5 working folks), being a little damp, and be ready to have alternative plans for the love of your life if you were going to try that outdoor dining under the stars.
