JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Week 4 of high school football across the First Coast is just about here and for the second week in a row we could see rain and thunderstorms impact the games Friday night.

First Coast News' Game of the Week between the Mandarin Mustangs @ Bradford Tornadoes could be quite the wet & soggy affair as heavy showers and downpours will be possible by the late afternoon and early evening, some of which could linger into the first half of games.

It has been an incredibly wet and rainy week with many areas seeing several inches of rain over the past 2-3 days. Unfortunately for high school football players and their friends and families, Friday might not be much different.

Energy and moisture from Francine will move in from the Gulf coast by lunchtime on Friday before spreading eastward throughout the afternoon and evening. Widespread showers and isolated pockets of heavy rainfall will be possible, along with a few thunderstorms.

Once again, players will need to prepare for a wet playing surface and rain-soaked footballs. Fans will need the blankets, ponchos, umbrellas, and perhaps a dry set of clothes for after the game.

Game highlights from all of the games above and more can be seen on First Coast News at 11 p.m. Friday night.
