Police: Man in custody in Nassau County following stolen vehicle chase

The Nassau County Sheriff's Office tells First Coast News that stop sticks were used to stop the vehicle.

NASSAU COUNTY, FLORIDA, Fla. — A man was taken into custody in Nassau County Tuesday morning following a stolen vehicle police chase, according to the Nassau County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office tells First Coast News that stop sticks were used to stop the vehicle, as it ended up in a ditch on the eastbound side of State Road 200 near Interstate 95 in Nassau County.

At least 10 Florida Highway Patrol cruisers were on scene at the time the vehicle was stopped, one in which sustained damage to its passenger side. When the alleged stolen vehicle was pulled and towed from the ditch, there was also damage sustained to it.

NCSO says it is assisting FHP who is handling the investigation.
