JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Three people were shot in three separate, unrelated shootings in Jacksonville Saturday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Westside shooting
JSO's Sergeant Scott says at approximately 2 a.m., officers responded to the 8000 block of Herlong Road in reference to a call about a person who was shot. When officers arrived, Scott says an unidentified man was taken to a local hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
JSO's initial investigation into the incident, reveals that the man was sitting inside of a vehicle in front of a business when he was approached by someone who shot him once in the neck. Police say the suspect fled the area on foot while the man drove to a Circle K gas station before being taken to the hospital.
"There's no indication at this point that it's a robbery, but we are early on in the investigation," Scott told First Coast News.
Detectives were on scene following the shooting, canvassing the area for potential surveillance video, JSO says.
