JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Former Jacksonville Housing Authority deputy Chief Financial Officer Gregory Williams, who left his post in May, has been arrested on a fraudulent use of credit card charge.
The "known total lost" was $9,500, the report said. OIG gave JSO the receipts, and multiple cards were used at Publix and Jacksonville bistro Biscotti's, as recently as April.
Williams was arrested Aug. 28.
According to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrest report, the agency was notified by the Jacksonville Office of Inspector General that 13 prepaid cards, originally valued at $650 total, were missing. The employee that usually handled the cards went on leave from January-March and discovered the cards were missing, the report said.
JHA said in May that Williams "failed" to report to work.
"JHA does not know why Mr. Williams decided not to return to work," they wrote in a statement.
JHA hired Tyson Montoya as its new CFO in June.
In January, former-JHA CEO Dwayne Alexander resigned, claiming he was "pushed out" by Mayor Donna Deegan's administration. JHA is now on its third CEO in six months.
