JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — There were only seven days in the entire month of September that rainfall wasn't recorded at the Jacksonville International Airport.
A total of 13.53" of rain was recorded during the month. That is 5.97" more than what's normal.
That large total still keeps us out of the top 15 wettest Septembers ever recorded in Jacksonville, coming in at 16.
Although we didn't break a record for monthly total, we broke a record for 3 month totals. When combining rainfall from July, August and September, the total is 36.90 inches. That is 15.69" more than normal and beats the previous record of 34.91" set in 1945.
2024 is the only time in recorded history that July, August and September all recorded 10+ inches of rain.
