JSO: Old St. Augustine Road between Pritmore and Crown Point roads closed for undetermined time

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says the portion of the road will remain closed "until the water recedes."

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office have closed a portion of Old St. Augustine Road for an "undetermined amount of time" Friday due to flooding.

JSO said at 4 a.m. that both directions of the road between Pritmore Road and Crown Point Road is closed, and that the portion of the road will remain closed "until the water recedes."

Drivers should seek alternative routes throughout the day. Driving through floodwaters can cause your vehicle's engine to stall and may cause irreparable damage.

Crews were observed draining water on the road; First Coast News will provide an update when the portion of the road reopens.
