Jaguars drop 4th-straight game but still control their own destiny

TAMPA, Fla. — The Jaguars were in Tampa looking to snap the 3-game losing streak.

In Tampa Bay's first drive of the game, Jaguars' defense forced the Buccaneers to a 24-yard field goal. Tampa Bay would lead early in the game, 3-0.

In their first drive, the Jaguars were quick to move the chains. But, just as quick as they got in Buccaneers territory, Trevor Lawrence threw a pick. 

At the top of the second quarter, the Buccaneers capitalized on Lawrences' turnover. In the red zone, Baker Mayfield connected with Mike Evans. Tampa Bay up on the Jaguars still, 10-0.

The Buccaneers forced the Jaguars to a 52-yard field goal attempt. Brandon McManus not able to get it done. The Buccaneers hold their lead, 10-0 with 6:20 minutes left in the first half.

One thing was certain, the Jaguars defense showed up to play. Jacksonville held the Buccaneers to another field goal. Tampa Bay would widen their lead to 13-0.

To close the half, the Buccaneers decided to throw another one in there before the half ends. Mayfield connects with Mike Evans again. This would end a horrifying half for the Jaguars, 20-0.

To start the third quarter, Trevor Lawrence gives it away again. This time getting the ball punched out of his hand.

With each turnover the Jaguars had, the Buccaneers scored.

Rachaad White would pick himself up a touchdown. The Buccaneers are fully out of reach for the Jaguars with a 27-0 lead.

This season, the Jaguars have not come back to win a game when they were down by more than two touchdowns at the half.

With less than a minute left in the third quarter, Trevor Lawrence connects with Calvin Ridley in the End Zone for 6. The Jaguars would go for the 2-point conversion but didn't execute. Tampa Bay still up, 30-6.

In the fourth quarter, Trevor Lawrence suffered a shoulder injury and his return was deemed "questionable."

In his place, backup quarterback C. J. Beathard. Beathard is no stranger to his stage as this is his 7th season in the NFL.

This season alone, Lawrence sustained injuries to his knee, ankle, head and now shoulder.

The Jaguars slipping away still, C. J. Beathard connects with Calvin Ridley for another 6. The extra point was no good.

The Jaguars would lose to the Buccaneers, 30-12. Their losing streak grows to four.
