ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — It's almost here: The St. Augustine Outdoor World store is opening in a couple weeks.
The new 100,000-square-foot store at 355 World Commerce Parkway is hosting a grand opening on Nov. 20, with events beginning at 5 p.m. Normal business hours will resume the following day.
For every dollar spent during the "Evening for Conservation," 10% will be donated to local conservation organizations and 10% of every dollar spent will be donated to hurricane relief efforts throughout the state, according to a press release.
The Bass Pro store will cost $21,735,000, will be 103,545 square feet and one story tall, according to its building permit.
"This new store will make it easier for people and families throughout the First Coast region to spend time together in the great outdoors," Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris said in a news release.
The retailer is expected to employ more than 115 "outfitters" at the new location. The store sells fishing and hunting equipment and clothing for outdoor activities including hiking, backpacking, wildlife viewing and camping. The showroom will offer boats, ATVs and side-by-side vehicles.
The store hosted a hiring event on Sept. 10-11.
Starting Nov. 21, daily door prizes for the first families in the door include gift cards valued from $10-$500, Yeti Yonder Water Bottles, Bass Pro Shops trucker hats and Bass Pro Shops Johnny Morris Signature Steak Strips.
