Here's how much the 130,000-square-foot Bass Pro coming to St. Johns County will cost

That's equivalent to 2.3 acres. Permits were issued last Thursday which show the estimated cost of the new store.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two building permits from St. Johns County show that the new Bass Pro complex set to open in St. Augustine will cost a combined $22.3 million.

The store will be built at 355 World Commerce Parkway, in the vacant lot near Buc-ee's and  Costco Wholesale.

The outdoor boat & ATV showroom is estimated to cost $550,000, according to the permit. It will be one story and 27,000 square feet. 

The Bass Pro 'Outdoor World' store will cost $21,735,000 be 103,545 square feet and also one story tall.

Bass Pro Shops "has been searching for the perfect location to serve the greater Jacksonville market," as this one in particular will offer convenience and accessibility to customers in the Northeast region of Florida.

"This new store will make it easier for people and families throughout the First Coast region to spend time together in the great outdoors," Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris said in a news release.

The retailer is expected to employ more than 115 'outfitters' at the new location. The store sells fishing and hunting equipment and clothing for outdoor activities including hiking, backpacking, wildlife viewing, camping and etc. The showroom will offer boats, ATVs and side-by-side vehicles.

“We are thrilled that Bass Pro Shops selected World Commerce Center as their North Florida location," said Duke Steinemann of Steinemann & Company, the developer of World Commerce Center. "We are planning to make World Commerce Center one of the most exciting destinations for retail in the region and Bass Pro Shops certainly helps lead that effort."
