SANDERSON, Fla. — Instead of sitting on the sand at one of the many crowded beaches on the First Coast, those who are looking for a more modest, chill time can opt to potentially have a Baker County park practically to themselves.

Welcome to Olustee Beach.

If you’re looking to speed past beach traffic while avoiding the large beach crowds, this may be your new summer getaway - a true hidden gem.

Just off the beaten path from Lake City, the park includes nature trails, boat launches and places to cool off.

One family who had the whole Ocean Pond to themselves, told First Coast News the outdoor adventure was the perfect opportunity to get some peace and quiet during the busy Fourth of July weekend.

Furthermore, the park offers plenty of places to hide during the familiar summertime afternoon storms. So, when the sun comes out, you can hit play on your summer day.

To claim your picnic table, Olustee Beach is open all summer, with just a $5 dollar admission fee per vehicle.
