JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Thousands of people are in Downtown Jacksonville Saturday night to see country music star Luke Combs. Saturday marks the second day he's headlining at EverBank Stadium.
However, problems Friday night meant some fans couldn't get in the door to enjoy the music due to issues with tickets purchased from StubHub.
First Coast News spoke with Combs' manager who said they have issues with invalid tickets everywhere, but never as bad as what concertgoers experienced on Friday night.
According to his manager, Combs was very upset to hear that so many fans weren't able to get into the show Friday night.
Now, they are making sure everyone who bought a ticket gets in.
"We are very much making sure everyone is taken care of tonight. We’ll be on high alert for the scammers. We’ll be looking out for it.," said Chris Kappy, Combs' manager.
Stubhub said in a statement they regret fans had an issue getting into the show Friday night, so they’re offering a 200% credit which could be used for tickets on Saturday night.
"We have identified a couple of sellers responsible and are currently investigating the situation. While we investigate, we’ve revoked their ability to sell on StubHub," a spokesperson said.
First Coast News talked with several people who said they’ve had issues in the past with digital tickets not working, so they’re hoping for the best on Saturday.
"You don’t know until it turns green and they let you in. You no longer print off the tickets and know you’re good to go. It’s waiting for that green light," said Mike Bedont, who was attending the concert Saturday.
Comb’s manager said he couldn’t give many details about their plan for Saturday night to avoid tipping off any scammers in other markets. He is encouraging fans to buy tickets from the direct promoter or the venue itself and to avoid third-party vendors to lessen the chance of ticket issues.
"The entire goal of what we do is make sure the fans have the best time. They’ve put their hard-working money into this, and we’re here to make sure they’re taken care of," said Kappy.
The concert promoter confirmed to First Coast News that no software or hardware issues were detected at EverBank's ticketing technology.
Statement from StubHub on ticket issues
“We deeply regret that some of our customers were unable to get into last night’s Luke Combs show, but we are resolving this for every customer who was impacted, as is provided by the StubHub FanProtect Guarantee. We are in touch with fans impacted to offer a 200% credit, which can help them buy tickets for the event tonight if they still wish to attend. While we further investigate the issue, we’ve suspended the sellers responsible.”
