JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Several people attending Luke Combs' Jacksonville concert on Friday told First Coast News that they were unable to get into the venue.
The concert was held at EverBank Stadium in Downtown Jacksonville. The ticket office at the stadium confirmed to First Coast News, On Your Side's Robert Speta that some of the tickets purchased on StubHub are not valid.
"So, the current issues that we're having with StubHub is we purchased tickets through them for the Luke Combs concert here, and when we got to the gate we're being told that they need to be through the AXS app, in which case we were told to contact StubHub," one concertgoer told First Coast News. "Nothing seems to be getting done and we can't seem to find a result for our tickets and we spent a good bit of money coming here."
Another concertgoer named Tiffany told First Coast News that "everything is just kinda going to hell."
"To even get the tickets it was so much, and now it's like 10 times worse and it's a horrible experience," Tiffany said.
"The people [at the ticket office] are not helping at all," Tiffany's friend, Alec Parker, added. "Then we called StubHub and they're telling us log in, log out, send screenshots, do all this, it's not helping anybody. It's like you can see that we paid for the tickets, why not just let us in?"
A group of high school seniors told First Coast News they drove hours for the concert and were turned away at the gate.
"We drove six hours here from Fort Myers, Fla. We’re here and now we can’t get into the pit," one girl said.
Avery Bringman spent her 20th birthday at the box office trying to resolve the issue, along with many others.
"We show up, it’s supposed to be a big birthday present, and our tickets are saying invalid," said Bringman. "You expected to see something, you trusted a website, and now you can’t trust them anymore."
While Bringman was in line, a First Coast News viewer who was unable to attend the concert due to an illness, wanted to give their tickets away. They heard about the ticket troubles and was able to transfer their tickets to Bringman, giving her quite the birthday surprise.
"I’m so excited, this is the only thing I could ask for," Bringman said. "Luke Combs is one of my favorite artists. This is the only thing I’ve been looking forward to."
Combs also has a show at the stadium in Jacksonville on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
First Coast News has reached out to StubHub regarding the issues the concertgoers were facing with the tickets and are waiting to hear back.
