ATLANTA — As Tropical Storm Debby strengthens, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency Sunday morning for the entire state.
The declaration is a precautionary measure for the safety and preparedness of all residents as the storm approaches, a news release said. A Tropical Storm Watch and Storm Surge Watch have been issued for coastal Georgia from the Mouth of St. Marys River to Altamaha Sound.
Debby is expected to become a hurricane before landfall in the Florida big bend region, the release said.
Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, stock up on essential supplies and ensure they have a plan in place.
Residents are encouraged to follow the Camden County Emergency Management Agency on Facebook, visit trusted weather sources such as the National Hurricane Center and the National Weather Service Office in Jacksonville.
