JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) is open Thursday, but travelers should be aware that flights are experiencing cancellations and delays due to Hurricane Helene.
The National Hurricane Center classified Hurricane Helene as a Category 3 storm Thursday afternoon and forecasted Helene to make landfall in Florida's Big Bend region Thursday night. Sixty-one counties in Florida are under a state of emergency.
As of 3:30 Thursday, at JAX, there were six flights canceled and two delayed departures, while arrivals have reported 16 cancellations and one delay.
