JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Another protest is being held at the Duval County courthouse Thursday afternoon to have Jacksonville entrepreneur Janay White arrested, according to a flyer shared with First Coast News.
White is accused of taking tens of thousands of dollars in real estate investments and mentorship programs, as more than 50 police reports have been filed against her for bad business practices. The flyer alleges that she's stolen over $1.5 million from over 100 families nationwide.
White has filed a restraining order against Buddy Wilson, one of her alleged victims. Wilson told First Coast News in November that he invested $56,000 in Airbnbs through White's company, and when communication started breaking down, that's when he turned to social media.
Wilson organized the first protest two weeks ago to have White arrested, and he is also the organizer of Thursday's protest.
First Coast News reached out to White ahead of the protest, but she declined to comment. However, she posted the below statement on her Facebook page Wednesday, giving an update in the form of a "testimony" into the whole ordeal:
"Testimony TIME!
A BIG BANK I was partnered with dropped me like a bad habit over all of the backlash I received last year
Well a few of my customers and clients wasn’t having it and they vouched for me and demanded that I be able to get my partnership back!
Low and behold: your girl is BACK!
I love being able to help people and connect them with the BEST!
And since the BANKS are the ones with the MONEY I definitely want to be friends with them so I can make them be friends with yall!
The goat is BACK!
Top 2, and I ain’t #2"
The protest will start at 4:30 p.m., the flyer states.
