Jacksonville woman charged with murder, kidnapping in connection to double shooting

Iris Williams, 44, was arrested and accused with several crimes in connection to a double shooting where one person died.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 44-year-old woman was arrested Thursday in connection to a murder that happened on Tuesday, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said in a press release.

JSO's Homicide and Crime Scene Units were able to identify and interview the suspect, Iris Williams, 44, after canvassing for witnesses and reviewing evidence.

On Oct. 17, officers responded to the 5800 block of Abelia Road shortly before 5 am. When they arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded and pronounced one of the men dead at the scene. The second man was taken to the hospital by JFRD.

The release said Williams was arrested for murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Williams's bond is set for $1,725,015. She is expected in court next month.
