JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men were shot inside of a home on Abelia Road on Jacksonville's Westside Wednesday morning in which one of the man's injuries, proved to be fatal, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO's Sergeant Henson says at approximately 4:55 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 5800 block of Abelia Road in reference to the shooting. Upon arrival, Henson says officers found one of the unidentified men with "at least one fatal gunshot wound" while the other man, was taken to a local hospital with at least one gunshot wound, as he's in critical condition.
JSO says the two men's ages are both between 35 and 50-years-old and that both men knew each other prior to the incident. Henson also says JSO is trying to figure out what led to the shooting or what the cause was.
Police say the shooting is believed to be "isolated" and the sheriff's office is speaking with "those who were present" when the shooting occurred.
