Police: One man shot in leg, another shot in hip in Jacksonville's Regency area

Both men suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men are recovering Tuesday morning after both were shot in Jacksonville's Regency area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JSO's Sergeant Scott says around 1:30 a.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Sunrise Drive in reference to shots fired. When officers arrived, they found one man in his 20s suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg; he was taken to a local hospital in non-life-threatening condition, according to police.

Minutes later, Scott says the other man also in his 20s, arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his hip. He is non-life-threatening condition, too, police say.

"At this point, it is unknown if these incidents are related," Scott said. "Detectives are canvassing the area for video surveillance and interviewing witnesses."

JSO did not release the identity of either man shot.
