JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection to a woman killed nearly a month ago.
On June 28, officers responded to the 900 block of Kings Road to a woman found suffering from a gunshot wound around 11:50 p.m., 38-year-old Dominique Reese. The victim was shot somewhere else and stopped to find help, police said.
She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Markees McGriff, 37, was charged with murder, armed robbery and armed burglary for the June slaying. Police saiad at the time they detained two people for questioning
Based on reviewing evidence at the scene and interviews McGriff was identified as the suspect responsible for the death of Reese. He is also accused of stealing property from inside the victim’s vehicle, police said.
