Hearing moved for 11 year old charged in Noah Bush's death, family calls for adults to be prosecuted

The hearing for the 11-year-old boy charged in connection with the death of Noah Bush was continued.

JESUP, Ga. — It was an emotional morning for the family of an 8-year-old found dead in May in a construction pit in Jesup, Georgia.

The family of Noah Bush and their lawyers were in court Thursday morning to hear the judge's sentencing for the 11-year-old boy charged in the case. The hearing was continued to Aug. 22, due to complications with the boy's representation.

He faces several charges, including involuntary manslaughter and concealing the death of another. Francys Johnson, one of the attorneys for the family, said he is confident the 11 year old will be receive the maximum punishment for his age.

"We feel that it is a step towards demonstrating Demetrice Bush's unwavering belief that Noah Bush did not drown himself," Johnson said.

A 10-year-old boy was also charged in connection to Noah's death. He already had a hearing and was sentenced to two years in a detention facility.

In exclusive surveillance video obtained by First Coast News, Noah can be seen walking past a neighbor's house on Mill Creek Road on May 15. He is never seen walking back. His body was found the next morning in a nearby construction pit full of water. According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, one of the juveniles pushed Noah into the water.

Noah's family and attorneys believe adults were involved in covering up his death. They now hope the attention will be turned to bringing charged against those adults.

"The other adults should be put on notice that this family will not stop until their involvement is also brought before a court of law, and they're held accountable as well," Johnson said.

The Wayne County Sheriff confirmed they are still investigating whether charges can be brought against the adults involved in this case.
