LAWTEY, Fla. — Funeral details of three women killed in Lawtey last week have been released.
Quinqune "Kat" Robinson, 49, Danesha Sims, 27, and Winshay Roddey, 25, were found in a home located at 21637 17th Ave. in Lawtey around 2 a.m. March 12. The granddaughter of one of the victims called 911 to report the shooting early in the morning; she was injured and taken to a Gainesville hospital, though she was later released.
There will be a balloon release 4 p.m. and a viewing for Robinson and Sims 5-6 p.m. Friday. A funeral service for all three victims will take place Saturday at Haile Funeral Home, 802 Oak St. in Starke.
Johnnie Lee Brown, 46, is facing four murder charges, including one that is listed as attempted, jail records show.
The incident report said that Brown told police he and Robinson were in an argument that "escalated into a physical altercation." The report said Brown told police that Roddey and Sims joined the altercation and came at him with knives. Brown then said he retrieved a gun, began firing toward the women, "went mad" and continued to fire shots at them while they were running away.
When Brown was asked by police how his arm was injured, the report states he said, "they had knives and were trying to cut him."
The report indicates that Sims was found with one knife in her right hand with her arms crossed across her chest in a defensive position, a second knife was found on the floor at the feet of Robinson and a third knife was found on the floor near the doorway of the bedroom.
Brown made his first court appearance Wednesday. Police said Brown was dating Robinson, but they were not married.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the Bradford County Sheriff's Office.
