Update: Victims identified in Bradford County triple homicide, boyfriend arrested

An 11-year-old girl, the granddaughter of one of the victims, called 911 to report the shooting Tuesday morning.

LAWTEY, Fla. — An 11-year-old girl called 911 Tuesday morning to report three women — her grandma and two aunts — had been fatally shot inside of a Bradford County home, according to the Bradford County Sheriff's Office.

Colonel Brad Smith tells First Coast News the three women, now identified as Quinqune "Kat" Robinson, 49, Danesha Sims, 27, and Winshay Roddey, 25, were found in a home located at 21637 Northeast 17th Avenue in Lawtey around 2 a.m. The 11-year-old girl indicated that the shooting is a domestic incident, the sheriff's office says.

A man found in the front yard of the home with several cuts when deputies arrived, has been identified as a suspect, according to police; his name is Johnnie Bernard Brown and he is 46-years-old. Smith says Brown and the girl were taken to a hospital in Gainesville for injuries after the shooting occurred, and have since been released.

"He [Brown] was not being very truthful in what he was saying what's going on," Smith said. "He had some minor puncture wounds, and then also a slash on his bicep that did require some stitching. He was saying that they were having an argument and that one of the females started attacking him with a knife and that's when he shot them. But then, further investigation and conversation with him... the story had changed quite a bit to where he had actually pursued them into the room that they were found dead in."

Brown is facing four murder charges, including one that is listed as attempted, jail records show.

The sheriff's office says the three women shot are a mother and her two daughters. The 11-year-old girl is the granddaughter of Robinson. And Brown is in a relationship with Robinson, but they are not married, according to Smith.

Brown's first court appearance will be on Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Alachua County, as he's currently in custody at the Alachua County Jail. He is being held in Alachua County for safety precautions and will be transported back to Bradford County after his initial court appearance, according to police.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing at this time, a Facebook post from Bradford County Sheriff Gordon Smith states, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Medical Examiner are on scene to assist.
