JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman who was shot during a traffic stop in Palm Coast on A1A last week has now been arrested.
Florida Highway Patrol says Jaquelin Faye Blank fled from state troopers who attempted to pull her over. After a brief pursuit, she "accelerated her vehicle toward a responding trooper."
At this time, the trooper shot her. FHP says he was faced with an "immediate deadly threat," and discharged his gun in an attempt to "immobilize" the threat.
Blank was provided medical care on scene and taken to a hospital. On Thursday, she was released and was now been arrested by FHP.
At the time of the traffic stop, Blank had a warrant for arrest for violation of probation. She was arrested on this charge as well as several new charges: three counts of aggravated battery on a police officer, aggravated fleeing and eluding, reckless driving causing damage to a person or property, felony criminal mischief, resisting with violence and driving without a valid driver's license.
Blank was booked into the Volusia County Jail in Daytona Beach, Fla.
