FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A person is in the hospital after a shooting involving a Florida Highway Patrol trooper on State Road A1A in Flagler County Wednesday night, according to FHP.
FHP said the state trooper initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle with two females inside. The driver fled the scene.
The trooper followed the fleeing vehicle. During the pursuit, the car crashed and came to a stop.
The trooper discharged his handgun and struck one of the suspects, FHP said. The suspect was rendered medical aid and taken to a hospital.
The trooper and other suspect were uninjured.
FDLE is investigating.
