Jacksonville police searching for suspected car involved in deadly hit-and-run

Detectives determined the vehicle is from 2011 to 2014 and is dark colored, possibly blue. The car should have damage to the left driver's side front quarter panel.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching for a dark-colored Volkswagen Jetta they believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Blanding Boulevard on Friday, Dec. 1.

Detectives determined the vehicle is from 2011 to 2014 and is dark colored, possibly blue. The car should have damage to the left driver's side front quarter panel and windshield.

JSO said an officer was responding to a separate call at the time the incident happened and while on the way shortly after 1 a.m., found the unidentified man in his 20s, lying across the inside southbound lane of Blanding Boulevard. 

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue.
