Weather Impact Alert Day: Heavy rainfall brings flooding risk, travel difficulties to First Coast Wednesday

Rain and showers, heavy at times, will slide onshore Wednesday, impacting drivers in the morning and evening.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The First Coast's Most Accurate Weather Team issued a Weather Impact Alert Day for Wednesday.

Rain and showers, heavy at times, will slide onshore Wednesday, impacting drivers in the morning and evening.

Due to the training nature of these downpours, the persistent showers we've seen over the past week and already very saturated ground, flooding concerns will return once again.

Here is what to know:

WHEN: Wednesday, 5 a.m. to midnight

IMPACT: Wet roads and possibly blinding rain at times on the roadways. Localized street flooding will be possible within the heaviest, slowest-moving storms

NEED: Caution on the roads, particularly in areas that are prone to flooding. Allow extra time for travel trouble spots & pack an umbrella or raincoat before you head out the door.
