JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The tropical development in the Caribbean is likely to form into a named storm this week and make landfall somewhere in the Florida Panhandle.

The main threats for the First Coast, from what we know Monday, will be rain, flash flooding and gusty winds.

This story will be updated throughout the week, as further advisories will provide more clarity on this storm.

WHEN: All day Thursday. We can tighten that timeline up as we get closer, but rain is likely to begin in the morning and intensify as the day goes on, ending early Friday. This system will be a fast mover, so conditions will rapidly improve Friday.

IMPACT: Rainy, with flash flooding. We will get strong winds, but the worst looks to be focused over the I-75 areas for now.

NEED: Thursday is a "stay indoors as possible" day. With windy and wet conditions, driving won't be ideal. Secure any loose items outdoors so they aren't blown around. Now would also be a good time to do some tree maintenance.
