JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The First Coast News Most Accurate Weather Team is issuing a Weather Impact Alert for Monday evening and Tuesday as Tropical Storm Debby creeps across the First Coast after it made landfall in Florida's Big Bend region, bringing tropical threats with it. Here's what to know.
WHEN: Now through Tuesday evening, Aug. 6.
IMPACT: Flooding, rain and gusty winds.
NEED: Clean storm gutters, move cars and valuables to higher ground away from streets and creeks prone to rainfall flooding, secure outdoor loose items, remove weak/low branches, charge devices and keep sound on to have ways to receive weather alerts in the case of a tornado and stock up on supplies in case of a power outage. Have alternate routes planned in case of washed out or flooded roadways.
Additional notes: Debby could continue to stall over the Southeast Georgia coast Tuesday, which would dump more rain and continue the flood risk for parts of our area. The threat could last into Wednesday for places like Brunswick.
