JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The First Coast's Most Accurate Weather Team is issuing a Weather Impact Alert for Saturday, Aug. 24 for widespread showers and localized flooding.

A meso-low offshore continues to pump moisture onshore across our coastal counties including downtown Jacksonville. Overnight areas east of downtown to Jacksonville Beach saw an estimated four-to-seven inches of rainfall with locally higher amounts which resulted in localized flooding. As that slowly drains out today more rain is on its way especially through this afternoon and evening as instability associated with the meso-low remains in place.

WHEN: Saturday, Aug. 24, 4 a.m.-7 p.m.

IMPACT: Additional rainfall adding to ponding on roads, potential for localized flooding plus thunderstorms.

NEED: Caution on the roads & wet weather gear for any outdoor events. Watch for local flooding, especially in poor drainage areas.
