JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The First Coast's Most Accurate Weather Team is issuing a Weather Impact Alert for Friday, Aug. 23 for widespread showers

Multiple areas around the First Coast saw about 2-4 " of rain this morning.  With scattered to widespread showers expected throughout much of the day Friday, any extra rainfall on top of what is already a very saturated ground could lead to ponding on roads and localized flooding.

With a lot of people having plans on Fridays, paired with week one of high school football, we will likely have a lot of First Coast residents out and about.

WHEN: Friday, Aug. 23 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

IMPACT: Additional rainfall adding to ponding on roads, potential for localized flooding and rainy conditions for dinner or high school football plans.

NEED: Caution on the roads, wet weather gear for any outdoor events.
