JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Most Accurate Weather Team is issuing a Weather Impact Alert for the afternoon of Wednesday, July 24.

A trough will be digging in from the north on Wednesday, helping to trigger additional and more widespread showers and maybe some severe storms.

WHEN: Wednesday, July 24 from 2-5 p.m. for the Jacksonville metro area. Storms will be west & north up until sunset.

IMPACT: 70% coverage of rain and thunderstorms around the Jacksonville metro and much of the First Coast. Heavy rain, localized flooding (especially on roadways and in areas that have recently received heavy rainfall), and frequent lightning strikes will be the primary threats.

NEED: Take it slow on the roads and be mindful of blinding downpours and the potential for hydroplaning. Listen for thunder and be able to take shelter when thunderstorms begin.
