JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida is gearing up for incoming Hurricane Idalia, which is forecasted to make landfall along the Big Bend after sunrise on Wednesday morning as a major hurricane. First Coast News is tracking Idalia as it makes landfall.
A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for much of the First Coast, excluding Columbia County, which is under a Hurricane Warning.
In Jacksonville, conditions are forecasted to be the windiest and wettest from pre-dawn to dusk hours on Wednesday.
The main risks for the First Coast is forecasted to be wind damage and power outages.
Based on the current forecast, conditions will start to clear on the back side of the storm by Wednesday night through Thursday.
