Power restored to thousands of customers after outages in Clay County

More than 30,000 people were without power Monday evening, but by 9 p.m., they had all been restored.

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Update: As of 9 p.m. Monday night, Clay Electric Cooperative's outage map indicated there were no outages and zero customers without power following thousands of outages earlier in the evening.

Thousands of people were without power in Clay County Monday evening after storms rolled through the First Coast.

According to Clay Electric Cooperative, Inc., 31,749 customers were without power around 5:30 p.m.

The electric company reported that its crews were working to fix the outages.
