JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The United States National Weather Service Jacksonville has issued a red flag warning for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. If you've seen a notification about a red flag warning for your area, or seen "fire weather" in your local forecast, it means you should not burn anything until the warning is over.
With relatively low humidity and a breezy west-northwest wind, fires have the potential to become uncontrolled if anything were to spark. All outdoor burning should be avoided today across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.
The red flag warning is currently in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday, but it could be extended.
