JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As Hurricane Debby begins to hit the First Coast, thousands are expected to be affected or lose power. Northeast Florida's three primary energy providers, JEA, Clay Electric and Florida Power & Light, are keeping track of residents facing the storm.
Clay Electric at one time reported more than 40,000 customers affected in its 15-county area. JEA is reported nearly 10,000 customers impacted while Florida Power & Light was reporting about more than 10,000 local outages across 29,000 impacted, mostly on Florida's Southwest coast.
