My lawn is brown. When can I water my yard on the First Coast?

Here are the local watering restrictions for the First Coast.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Much of the First Coast has remained dry recently, and it shows in the brown grass.

Some may be tempted to water their lawns daily until it rains, but it's important to follow watering restrictions so we don't deplete our water supply.

Here are the guidelines for this time of year:

Northeast Florida during Daylight Saving Time (Second Sunday in March until the first Sunday in November):

- Addresses that end in an odd number can water on Wednesday and Saturday

-  Addresses that end in an even number can water on Thursday and Sunday

- Nonresidential properties can water on Tuesday and Friday

- Do not water more than twice a week on scheduled days

- Do not water between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

- Do not use more than three-fourths inch of water per zone

- Do not water for more than an hour per zone

- Restrictions apply to private wells and pumps, ground or surface water, and water from public and private utilities

Southeast Georgia (non-drought conditions):

- Do not water between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
