Here's the status of Jacksonville International Airport as Milton approaches

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville International Airport remains open ahead of Hurricane Milton, according to its website Wednesday morning. 

As of 9 a.m. on Wednesday, there is only one flight listed as canceled on JIA's website -- a flight to Ft. Lauderdale. 

JIA says it is currently monitoring the weather, but remains operational as of Wednesday morning. For the most updated flight information, the airport recommends you check in with your airline.

Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall on Florida's Gulf Coast as a major hurricane Wednesday evening. 

Milton's impacts to the First Coast will arrive Wednesday, with the worst of the weather being Thursday 12 a.m. to 12 p.m.
