ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — St. Johns County will lift mandatory evacuation orders at 5 p.m. Thursday, as the impacts of Milton blow over.

Anyone in Evacuation Zone A, B or the part of Zone F that was evacuated -- south of State Road 206 -- can return to their homes after this time.

Storm shelters will close at 10 a.m. on Friday. Residents who went to storm shelters are encouraged to safely return home and assess damage to their properties, St. Johns County Director of Affairs Wayne Larson advised.

Officials are still urging residents in flood-prone and low-lying areas to proceed with caution.

Some roads in the area still remain closed.
