VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Volusia County Sheriff's Office has reported four "hurricane-related" deaths from Milton Thursday.

According to VCSO, the Medical Examiner's Office reported two deaths caused by trees falling on homes. The victims were a 79-year-old woman in Ormond Beach and a 54-year-old woman in Port Orange.

The other two deaths were medical events, VCSO said. One person died while boarding up prior to the storm. The other occurred during storm conditions "that prevented an emergency medical response."

"The Sheriff’s Office and County of Volusia send sincere condolences to these families who lost a loved one in this storm," VCSO said.
