Woodlands neighborhood ordered to evacuate as Ian floodwaters rise, Flagler County officials say

The county has opened a public shelter at Rymfire Elementary School.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — Residents living in Flagler County's Woodlands neighborhood, otherwise known as Evacuation Zone C, are advised to evacuate the area amid significant flooding caused by Tropical Storm Ian, the county announced on Thursday.

Rising floodwaters may impact homes in the area and make it impossible for emergency vehicles to have access to the area, according to the alert.

"We encourage you to stay with friends or relatives outside of your neighborhood, or you may go to our public shelter at Rymfire Elementary School," the county's emergency management department said. "Please leave as soon as possible as the flooding will peak overnight."
