ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The security camera on a St. Augustine man's home captured what appeared to be a meteor streaking across the sky Monday. Hundreds of Floridians reported seeing a fireball light up the night sky late Monday.
Anthony Carita shared this video with First Coast News. "Check this out! On Monday the 12th our security camera caught a meteor streaking across the sky and exploding at 10:14 p.m." he said.
More than 200 people reported seeing the fireball, including a Julington Creek man, who reported a "bright multi-colored comet in the sky for about three seconds. The biggest and brightest" he has ever seen.
