TAMPA, Fla. — An all-new experience of luxury and decadence is sailing into Tampa Bay in 2026.
Oceania Cruises is set to become the "first ultra-premium line to sail out of Tampa" with a range of new sailings focused on culinary excellence and scenic destinations.
The company will be offering cruises ranging from seven to 20 nights aboard the 670-guest Insignia. The ship will leave from Port Tampa Bay to explore the Caribbean islands of St. Thomas, St. Kitts and Tortola; stop in Cozumel, Costa Maya and Belize City; and travel through the iconic Panama Canal with an overnight stay in Panama City.
Oceania called Tampa "the perfect match for the world’s only true foodie cruise line" given the city's diverse food scene, Michelin Guide restaurants and immersive dining experiences.
“This is a natural expansion for our brand, as Tampa echoes the cosmopolitan essence of our beloved hometown of Miami with its diverse mix of international influences and cultures," Frank A. Del Rio, president of Oceania Cruises, said in a news release.
Built in 1999 and refurbished in 2018, the Insignia promises "the ultimate small ship experience for travel adventures," according to the Oceania website. The 593.7-foot boat holds 670 passengers and 400 crew members.
Other features of the Insignia include:
- Gourmet specialty restaurants Polo Grill, a classic American steakhouse, and Toscana, an Italian restaurant
- Spa and fitness classes at Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center
- Sports deck with putting greens and shuffleboard
- Top-of-ship library
- Lounges, bars and a casino
“We are thrilled to welcome Oceania Cruises to Port Tampa Bay,” Paul Anderson, president and CEO of Port Tampa Bay, said. “The arrival of Insignia marks a significant milestone, enhancing Tampa’s status as a premier cruise destination. We look forward to welcoming new guests to our beautiful city and gateway, as the increased tourism will create substantial economic opportunities for our region, workers, and businesses.”
