ORLANDO, Fla. — SunRail has released a detailed schedule of times the train will make stops at its 12 stations.
Running Monday through Friday, SunRail will begin offering service to passengers on May 1.
Passengers will be able to travel from as far north as DeBary to as far south as Sand Lake Road. The total length of the trip will be 56 minutes, according to the new schedule.
During peak travel time in the morning and evening, trains will depart every 30 minutes.
The first southbound train from DeBary departs at 5:30 a.m. and will get downtown commuters to the Lynx Central Station at 6:14 a.m. The first northbound train departs the Sand Lake Road Station at 6:15 a.m. and arrives downtown at 6:56 a.m.
The final SunRail trains depart at 8 p.m. heading southbound and 9:15 p.m. heading northbound.
There will be no SunRail service on the weekends.
Phase Two of the SunRail project will extend the service from DeLand in the north to Poinciana in the south.
President Barack Obama has plans to include $63 million in the 2015 transportation budget which will assist in the second phase of the SunRail project in Central Florida.
The money earmarked in the transportation budget will keep the expansion going to the south while the Department of Transportation is working to get other federal money earmarked for the north side expansion.
Rep. John Mica said the inclusion in the federal budget is a significant step and he called on state and local leaders to keep the project moving.
