CRESCENT BEACH, Fla. — Every year snowbirds, travelers 55 and older, flee the frigid north for warmer climes.
A St. Johns County beach has been deemed one of the top "Snowbird escapes" in the country.
According to a report from Hometogo of 10 Snowbird destinations in the U.S. for under $200 a night, Crescent beach is seventh on the list.
Based on using data from NOAA and website Visual Crossing, Crescent Beach has an average temperature of 66 degrees during the winter months. It's median vacation home nightly price per person is $161.
The Panhandle's Silver Sands Beach made the list, and Wauchula and Englewood, both in Southwest Florida are the other Florida areas on the list.
Other ideal snowbird destinations include Yuma, Arizona; Northwest Corpus Christi and Lakeway, Texas; Honokaa, Hawaii; Needles, California; and Foley, Alabama.
