The cancellations at JAX are only part of a nationwide problem concerning Southwest Airlines this weekend. Many other airports in Florida, including Tampa, Orlando and Miami are also experiencing a large number of cancellations.
According to Flightaware, 29% of Southwest Airlines flights are either delayed or canceled as of 9 p.m. on Sunday.
In a tweet Saturday, the company blamed the cancellations on air traffic control issues along with weather-related problems as well.
The company travelers should call customers service, though wait times may be longer than usual. Travelers may also rebook flights on the Southwest website.
