Breeze Airways adding non-stop service from Jacksonville to San Diego

The two-day-a-week service begins May 1, according to the airline.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Breeze Airways said will be adding new nonstop service May 1 from San Diego to Jacksonville.

The trips are Wednesdays and Saturdays. Fares start from $129 one-way if purchased by Jan. 15, for travel by Sept. 3. Breeze is currently offering 35% off all roundtrip base fares on travel from Jan. 15 through May 22, if the promo code "GETFRESH" is used at checkout on the Breeze App or at flybreeze.com.

The promotion is available through Jan. 12 and includes every route in Breeze’s coast-to-coast network across 46 cities in 26 states.

“New flights between Jacksonville and San Diego will mean a convenient nonstop connection between two of the nation’s largest Navy towns,” Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Mark VanLoh said. “Breeze’s continued growth in Jacksonville, including today’s announcement, has meant new nonstop service to some of Northeast Florida’s largest unserved markets.”

“San Diego is one of the U.S.’s most popular summer destinations with great food, beautiful beaches and popular family attractions ,” Breeze Airways’ President Tom Doxey said in a press release. “We’re thrilled to add service to San Diego, our fifth destination in California and 46th airport served nationally.”

Breeze doesn’t charge change or cancellation fees up to 15 minutes prior to departure and offers other benefits such as free family seating and a la carte pricing, according to the release.
