Lanes now open after water main break on Atlantic Boulevard backs up traffic

JSO is on the scene, diverting traffic to San Pablo Road. The outside and middle lanes of Atlantic Boulevard are closed, with delays expected "into the night."

A water main break on Atlantic Boulevard near San Pablo Road is backing up traffic for people heading west from the beaches.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — All lanes are now open on Atlantic Boulevard near San Pablo Road following a broken water main Wednesday afternoon, which caused major traffic backups for people leaving the Beaches, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the Florida Department of Transportation and the Neptune Beach Police Department.

JSO diverting traffic to San Pablo Road, according to a traffic alert from the sheriff's office. The outside and middle lanes of Atlantic Boulevard are reportedly closed.

The Neptune Beach Police Department shared a couple of photos of the traffic on its Facebook page.
