JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two Jacksonville men were injured after a rear-end crash and fire happened on Interstate 295 near Pulaski Road Wednesday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The FHP crash report states that at 1:37 a.m., a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling southbound on I-295 south of Pulaski Road in the right lane. A cement truck driven by a 43-year-old man, was also traveling in the lane, directly in front of the Chevrolet driven by a 29-year-old man, the report states.
FHP says the Chevrolet rear-ended the cement truck as both vehicles "veered to the right and overturned into the wood line." The report then states that both vehicles caught fire.
The 29-year-old man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, while the 43-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital, according to the report. FHP did not release the men's identities.
